Yr 9/10 Division Basketball 

Boys/Mixed 

On Monday the 3rd of August our Year 9 and 10 boys made their way too Narandjerri to compete in the division basketball tournament. They started the day strong with their great coaches Wim, Spencer and Niko with a win for both the A and B team. Unfortunately, the winning streak ended there with the boys losing the next two games and ending their day early. Although it wasn't the successful day the boys were hoping for, they showed great teamwork and encouragement for both each other and the girls team.  

Girls  

On Monday the 3rd of August our Year 9/10 girls A and B Basketball team played at Narandjerri Stadium. The girls A and B team, worked really hard and played some great Basketball throughout the day. The girls A team just missing out on the final in their final game! Both teams were able to get behind each other and also cheer on the boys as well. Special shout out to Mary for coaching and supporting the girls throughout the day! Well done 

Yr 9/10 Boys/Mixed Regional Soccer 

On Thursday the 6th of August, our Year 9/10 boys travelled to Darebin Sports Centre to take part in the Regional soccer tournament. The boys played some incredible football throughout the day, showing great team work and individual skill resulting in the boys coming away as regional champions! They will be playing in the State Championship on the 1st of September. Well done!!   

Yr 8 Boys/Mixed Regional Netball 

On Tuesday the 11th of August our elite year 8 boys headed off for their regional netball tournament at La Trobe Sports Stadium. They started the day strong with a win against Mernda Central showing great teamwork and collaboration. Unfortunately, their winning streak ended there, but energy levels were still high, and they still gave it their all. After a loss in their second game, they were still a chance for finals with a win in the third game.

Although they fought hard for the first 2 quarters, Macleod was able to muster up that last bit of energy and smash it home in the last 2 quarters. Shout out to Piper and Rosie for coming along to coach the boys.  

Yr 9/10 Table Tennis 

Our Yr 9/10 table tennis team had a great day out at Yr 9/10 Division Table Tennis on August 12.  This was a pupil free day for Northcote but the team was still keen to compete and represent our school.  Northcote played through all of their pool games with straight wins, which qualified to have a place in the Grand Final  against Preston.  

The team knew it was going to be a tough task to beat Preston as they were a very strong team. The grand final came down to the wire in a close match which ended up needing countback on points saw Northcote come away with the win. We wish them all the best in the regionals.

August 17 : Yr 9 /10 Regional Girls Netball, Yr 7-8 Basketball Selection Tournament
