Rugby 7’s

A great day of Rugby 7’s was held at Orange Emus on  the 4th April  last term. Once again both teams led by “The Master '' Mr Sheridan and his able apprentice Mr Will Bishenden performed extremely well.  We had two excellent  Catherine McAuley teams.   The team of Harry Fardell, Sam Cox, Isaac Mullins, Louis Markwick, Beau Biddle, Bronx Rolton, Lincoln Hainsworth, Oscar Logan and Oscar Gardner  were able to win the day and defend the Orange School’s title and will now compete in the Regional Finals also at Orange Emus on the 22nd May.  We wish them the best of luck.

Cross Country

We have a number of students heading off to Coolah next week (7th May) to compete in the Diocesean Cross Country.  We wish them well.

Diocesean Winter Sports Trials

We have a number of students travelling to Tamworth to compete in Polding Trials for Rugby League (Lincoln Hainsworth, Harry Fardell, Isaac Mullins and Louis Markwick) and Soccer  (Nicholas Curran, Hudson Diduszko, Jesse Board and Calum Davis). We wish them the best of luck.

Athletics Carnival

At the end of last term we had a wonderful athletics carnival which was convened by Mrs Livingstone.  Due to the next carnival (Southern Region) not being until the 2nd August competitors who have made it through to the next level will be notified by Week 5 this term.

The school and students would like to thank Mrs Livingstone for the many number of hours beforehand to get the carnival ready.  Without this type of dedication and giving up her own time our carnival wouldn't run.

Swimming

Congratulations must go to Lulu Eades who was selected to swim at the PSSA carnival (Primary Schools Sports Association) in Sydney last term.  A wonderful achievement.

Rugby League

This Thursday we have a number of students in Years 3/4 plus Year 5/6 competing in a Fun Gala Day of Rugby League at Brendon Sturgeon Oval.  Games start at 9.30 and run until 2pm.  We hope to see as many parents in attendance as possible to support Catherine McAuley.
