From the Principal
As always, there have been plenty of things happening around our school over the last couple of weeks. This week:
- Our Foundation students had their first swimming program, which they all enjoyed.
- Our senior high ability students were involved in a GATEWAYS incursion.
School Uniform Expectations
I would like to provide all parents with a friendly reminder regarding our school uniform expectations. We have a documented school uniform policy, that I would encourage you to read.
This policy also covers guidelines around the wearing of jewellery and makeup.
I thank all parents in advance for your support with this.

Student Absences
With so much going on around the school each week and everything that is probably happening outside of school, we are heading into a time of year where kids can easily get run down and sick.
We strongly encourage that when your child is unwell, they are not sent to school. As you would expect, we do not want the unintentional spreading of germs.
This week I sent an email out through Compass to all parents, to provide a reminder about the process for notifying us of your child's absence. Please make sure you have read this email, so you are familiar with these processes.
Staffing: Short Term Replacements
I have previously spoken regarding the critical shortage of short replacement teachers and support staff. As we move into the Winter period, where the level of illness tends to be at its highest point, there is and will not be an available supply of replacement staff.
Our absolute priority is to have the least amount of disruption on student learning. When a replacement teacher cannot be accessed, our most common process is to split the grade across the year level and in some cases, the corresponding year level.
I ask for all parents and carers to be kind and understanding when your child's grade is split. As it is with students, I do not want unwell staff at work, where there is the possibility of germs being spread unnecessarily.
Education Week: Open Night
Next week is Education Week around Victoria. To celebrate this week, we are hosting a whole school Open night on Monday afternoon. Each of our teams have lots of engaging things organised and we look forward to seeing you all. Below is a poster that contains all the details for this event.
Mothers Day
On Monday, we had our annual Mothers Day stall. I would like to thank the PFC for organising this event for all our kids. I would also like to thank all the parent and carer volunteers who gave up their time to assist with running of the stalls.
On behalf of everyone at Langwarrin Park Primary School, I wish all our Mums the happiest of Mothers Days on Sunday. I hope you all get spoilt and take the opportunity to have some high-quality time with your family.
