Wellbeing

Mrs Melina James

Dear Parents, Carers, and Students,

I hope that you enjoyed a restful break and that you have all returned safe, well and rejuvenated!

This week, our Indigenous students, along with a friend participated in a Yarning Circle run by Uncle Ted from Jarara. It was wonderful to hear the students sharing about their culture and learning from each other. Stay tuned, because throughout the term, there will be more opportunities for our Indigenous students to share their knowledge and culture with our school community.

Another wellbeing initiative starting this term is the introduction of the Pivot Wellbeing for Learning surveys. As mentioned in the Compass notification, students in year three to year six will begin using a feedback platform called Pivot. This survey is focused on collecting data around student wellbeing. Pivot will help our school to encourage ongoing collaboration between students and teachers to promote stronger relationships and improved student engagement in the classroom. We look forward to using this feedback as a way to improve student wellbeing at St Margaret Mary’s.

Warm regards,

Melina James
