Old Saints

Heritage Week Recap

The College's 12th annual Heritage Week took place from 29 April to 10 May 2024, withour community enjoying a number of activities and events to celebrate and recognise ASC's heritage.

Students in Kindy to Year 2 participated in a Heritage Week Colouring Competition of various locations across campus. We received some wonderful entries (see some of these below). The artworks were created by Old Saint Samara Ainge (Class of 2022). The entries have been judged by Old Saints' Committee members and the winners will be announced at the next ECC Reflection.

Our Years 3 and 4 cohorts had a blast during their Heritage Week Jigsaw Challenges, as they pieced together puzzles of archival images and matched aerial images of the campus to the correct years. In Years 5 and 6, students took part in Walking Tours of the campus led by Heritage Coordinator Mr John Beaverstock and Alumni Coordinator Miss Karyn Osmetti (Class of 2006). Mr Beaverstock spoke about the archival images installed on windows across campus, before the students returned to class to participate in quizzes in their House groups.

The Heritage Pop-Up Museum in the Centre for Performing Arts showcased a range of artefacts from the College's Archives, as well as aerial images depicting the evolution of the campus.

The Senior School enjoyed a presentation from Mr Beaverstock and Old Saint Charles Street (Class of 1998) at Assembly in the first week. To conclude Heritage Week, the Old Saints took on the ASC students in the highly anticipated Heritage Week Old Saints vs Students’ Sports Match in the Indoor Sports Centre, with the Old Saints taking home the win!

Thank you to the entire College community for supporting another wonderful Heritage Week at ASC.
