St Philomena's Cross Country Carnivals, Winter Polding Trials, Primary Soccer Gala Day

St Philomena's Cross Country

At the end of last Term, St. Philomena's athleticism was on display at our annual Primary and Secondary Cross Country events.

From the youngest racers to the sprightly sprinters, our primary division lit up the Moree Race Course with boundless energy and infectious enthusiasm! Well done primary runners for your efforts on the day. The results are below:

On the same day, our Secondary students pushed their limits, and soared to new heights of speed and strength. While some battled for a champion position, others strived to beat their personal bests. We are very proud of all competitive and non-competitive runners.

On Monday 13th May our primary students will travel to Gravesend for the Zone Cross Country Carnival and then to Barraba on Friday 17th May, with an opportunity to progress at the Diocese Cross Country. We wish all Phillies students the best of luck!

Next Wednesday 15th May our secondary students will travel to Armidale to compete in the Diocese Cross Country Carnival. Good luck everyone!

Winter Polding Trials

Congratulations to Bruce Antees and Agnes Tighe for representing the Diocese at the Football and Netball trials. A special mention to our very own Mrs Schweitzer whose expertise was on display as the Armidale Diocese Netball Team Manager. Your work in this space is greatly appreciated!

Primary Soccer Gala Day

On Tuesday 7th May, 81 primary students travelled to Narrabri to participate in the NNSW Newcastle Permanent Primary School Gala Day. Students played multiple modified games of Soccer and it was a great opportunity for all students to display teamwork and sportsmanship. Thank you to Miss Arthur, Mrs Schweitzer, Mr Carroll and Mr Powell for accompanying our students on the day.
