Being Well at Magill

Magill School is proud to have become a URSTRONG School. URSTRONG’s whole-school friendship strategy has improved the social climate in schools around the world, connecting over a million kids, parents, and teachers with a common language of friendship. We are committed to empowering your children with friendship skills.

The decision to sign up for URSTRONG comes from recognising the program aligns with Magill School’s wellbeing focus of developing wellbeing literacy, teaching emotional regulation and behavioural skills, and improving engagement with school. The following Australian Curriculum subjects are incorporated into URSTRONG making it a valuable program for Magill, the teachers delivering the program, our children and the wider community:

  • The Health and Physical Education Curriculum (PDHPE) with a focus on ‘Healthy Relationships’
  • Personal and Social Capability
  • Ethical Understanding
  • Critical and Creative Thinking
  • Plus interdisciplinary connections with both the English and Arts curriculum

You are invited to take advantage of a FREE Parent Membership to access hundreds of resources – including an 8-session video series. We will also host a parent information session in August (more information on that to follow), allowing you to learn the same language and strategies taught in the classroom through the Friendology 101 curriculum. We hope that, as a URSTRONG Family, you will reinforce the important messages of empowerment, self-compassion, and kindness at home.

So, what are your next steps?

Activate your FREE Parent Membershiphttps://urstrong.com/parents/ and explore all the resources available to your family. Explore the hundreds of resources available to you!

We believe that empowering our students with these skills will create a culture of kindness at our school, and we hope that, together, we can support your children to have healthy, feel-good friendships.

Stay posted for more information for our parent session in August.
