OT Room 1 (next to bus loop)

The box that locks away the rope for suspension equipment has been raised so hopefully student will no longer be able to reach and climb on it. The rope is not a swing. It is for attaching equipment that the OT's determine  needs to be attached for student needs. OT's will train staff when needed to use any such equipment.

 

OT Room 2 (Yaluk Building)  will be set up by the O)T's for Secondary Students use. Booking will also apply t6o this room.

 

Yaluk Building

By now all classes will have had the opportunity to visit the building. The new grass around the building is still in its infancy so please stay off the grass.

The benches have arrived for the Hospitality Kitchen but we are waiting for other classroom furniture and joinery in room 25.

 

We are planning on changing the the student entry gate for secondary to Emu Parade to ease congestion in Bamburgh street. We will advise when this change will take place.

 

Room Bookings:

Loc has put the Gym, Assessment & Meeting Room Room 2 & 3 and the old Art Room on the booking program but these are not yet available for booking. Hopefully by the end of the week this may happen.

 

Transition plan that will be implemented  as soon as possible.

 

Phase 1 (Yaluk Building)

Student Tours of the building have been completed. 

Social Stories developed by Therapy team for Phase 1 transitions

  • Transition Room23 back to own classroom (Monday 29th  April).
  • Parents Tour Friday 3rd May from 2:00pm until 4:30 pm 
  • Phys Edn and Hospitality may begin in new building
  • Delivery of classroom furniture to Room 26, 27 and Art Room
  • Students move into furnished classrooms.

Phase 2: (Middle to Secondary wing)

  • Tour of new classrooms
  • Social Story for phase 2
  • Transition of Middle School Collaboration Room to Current Room 25 (Eastern side)
  • Transition of Room 16-18 to vacated to the relocatables
  • Setting up of science room adjacent to Therapy Office.
  • Establishment of Living Skills space in Western side of current room 25

Maintenance requests

LOG requests on SharePoint DO NOT tell myself or Jacob when we are out & about as we will not remember. Jobs that aren't logged will not be actioned. Remember to include details about your job so we can manage it quickly & efficiently.

 

Workplace inspections & reporting items

If you have a maintenance issue in your office or room these should be reported in the Maintenance log immediately. DO NOT wait until the end of term to report these issues as many need to be rectified as quickly as possible to avoid incidents.

 

Gates around the school

Please be aware of your keys and keep them out of sight/non accessible to students as many know how to use the fobs and keys to access the staff carpark and external surrounds. 

If you have an ongoing issue with students opening gates around the school, please discuss it with your sub school leader and Mary Boutros - Safe & Well Operations Leader.

 

Air conditioners can staff please make sure AC units are turned off. TURN OFF the AC units in the OT room & climbing room as you leave at the end of each session.

 

ICT & Facilities job notifications: 

Log any jobs for Maintenance on SharePoint. This will enable Jacob and I to schedule the works and ensure they are completed in a timely manner. 

Log any jobs for ICT Support on SharePoint. This will enable Loc and Luat to schedule the works and ensure they are completed in a timely manner. 

Please make sure you log the correct jobs on the correct logs.
