Captains Corner

Hello GWPS community,

On the 6th May, all the GWPS Year 6 leaders walked to Glendal Primary School for a leadership day. We had a great day of fun and learning. We learned about how to protect the wildlife in the environment, what grit is, the 17 global goals and met new people from different schools such as Glendal Primary , Mount View Primary and Glen Waverley Secondary College. We made lots of new friends through the different bonding games.

Last week the Year 6’s participated in our first inter school sport matches for Term 2. We played against Pinewood and had lots of fun playing our sports against new people. We are really enjoying playing against other schools.

It is great that at our school we have lots of excursions and other events coming up such as:

  • Year 2’s are going to Ceres.
  • Year 5’s to Hinkler Reserve to complete a nature walk.
  • Year 6’s to ScienceWorks.
  • Some of the Year 4 to 6’s will be representing our school in the District Cross-Country event and
  • The Debating Team have an incursion!

Wow, so many opportunities for us to learn more!!

Thank you for reading this issue of the newsletter and I hope you enjoy the rest of the term.
