Performing Arts News

Happy Easter everyone! Congratulations to Eleanor M, Karl V, & Christian K for their involvement in the Parish Choir over the Easter Triduum. They performed big choral works including Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus with Christian on violin in the String orchestra!

Our preparations for the production are starting to ramp up, with auditions being submitted by Year 3-6 choir members on Seesaw. I remind students that singing and acting auditions close on April 22.

Year 1 & 2 students are auditioning in class and choir time. Dance auditions will take place later this term. Please encourage your students to just do their best in the audition and understand that not everyone will be Nemo or the Noble Gnarble! It is terrific that they are willing to have a go.

Jen Brown and I would like to call out for donations of any old baseball caps. We would like to paint these and use them to make costumes. We would also appreciate any brightly coloured pool noodles that are no longer needed. We have some at school but could use more. These will make lovely coral scenery. Thank you to the person who donated some of these items this week. Another item that we would like to source is a long Christmas Rope light. Please email Ann Earle (aearle@spmentone.catholic.edu.au) if you can help.  We appreciate everyone’s help.
