2024 Student Voice Project

On Tuesday, the 12th of March, a group of Auburn High School students - Adea R., Danielle W., Ivy L., John N., Prateek G., Seohyun L., Steven L., and Terry Y. - attended the opening ceremony of the 2024 Student Voice Project. This initiative brings together both international and local students from government and non-government schools across Victoria. Its primary objective is to foster a sense of welcome and inclusion for international students within the school community, while simultaneously nurturing greater intercultural understanding and global perspectives among local students.

The project encompasses various activities throughout the year. This includes an opening forum in Term 1, followed by a series of coaching and mentoring sessions for participating students during Terms 2 and 3, as well as a closing forum at the end of Term 3.

During the opening forum, the students engaged in lively brainstorming sessions and discussions. They explored several ideas aimed at promoting global learning and engagement within our school community. Some of the proposed activities include organising a Multicultural Week in Term 3, featuring themes such as sports, food, costume, and music, as well as launching an International Student Peer Support Project.

It was just wonderful witnessing the students' enthusiastic engagement and passion for this project. They are ready to make a difference!
