Level 1 & 2 Wonga Weekly

Week 2, Term 2

Week 2  will be a very busy week with lots of changes to our routines. We will participate in Cross Country on Monday and an ANZAC day assembly on Wednesday. This week we also have a public holiday on Thursday (ANZAC Day) and the whole school Curriculum Day on Friday.

 WEEK 2 LEARNING IN...

📚 LITERACY

In Reading, we will notice when characters are talking in texts, particularly noticing the words used to acknowledge who was doing the talking (said John, exclaimed Bill, laughed Jade, huffed Sue  for example).

In Writing, we will be reflecting on the significant experiences that we will be a part of this week, particularly ANZAC Day commemorations.

In Phonics, we will be focusing on the digraph 'qu'. The letter 'q' is special because it almost always needs a 'u' after it, such as in quest, question, quarter, quiet.

What you can do at home

Please encourage your child to have a look at the Reading Eggs website. Spend some time investigating the great books that are available to read on the Reading Eggs Library.

Your child should have a copy of their password for this site pasted into the front of their Reading Log, for your reference.

🎲 NUMERACY

We will continue to focus on shape during Maths sessions. We will be recognising familiar shapes and objects in the environment, identifying the similarities and differences between shapes and classifying shapes according to their features.
