Year 1 Highlight

During our first week back of Term Two the Year Ones made a real life connection to the book “The Fantastic Cake” written by Joy Cowley through making their very own delicious vanilla cake. As a whole class the Year Ones read the recipe and then took turns adding ingredients to the mixing bowl and decorating the cake with icing and sprinkles. This sequential and fun experience gave the students a rich experience to recount within their writing and refer back to as a true text-to-self connection.
