Welcome to the ‘Rainbow Room” at the Springs

This term we are very excited to introduce our new space, 'The Rainbow Room'.  This room has been created as a safe, inclusive and calming space. A space where the students can be themselves, explore their feelings, feel calm and receive support to assist them in becoming the best version of themselves that they can be.

The space has been designed to allow for sensory and emotional exploration, bright colours to encourage positivity and happiness, and representation of all kinds of diversity to encourage inclusion and acceptance. This is a space where the students can be comfortable with bean bags, cushions and quiet activities to allow for reflection, calming and connection.

An inclusive area where students will be heard and will have a voice, without judgement. To meet other students and regulate to allow for learning to recommence. Students will be supported in the space by staff and provided safety and care. This space has purposely left most walls and areas blank for students to contribute to the space to allow them to have input into their very own room that reflects their thoughts and beliefs and things that help them feel happy.

It will be open on selected break times, and will be available for staff to use throughout learning sessions. We are very excited to introduce this space to our community and our students and are hopeful that this will provide the students with confidence, care and connection to feel acknowledged, important and heard. This will positively impact mental health and wellbeing and will have a flow-on effect in the classrooms and other learning environments.

NDIS Funding

The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, or volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life.

The NDIS also connects anyone with a disability to services in their community.

This includes connections to doctors, community groups, sporting clubs, support groups, libraries and schools, as well as providing information about what support is provided by each state and territory government.

The NDIS now supports over 500,000 Australians with disability to access the services and supports they need.

This includes supporting approximately 80,000 children with developmental delay, ensuring they receive supports early so that they achieve the best outcomes throughout their lives.

How to apply for NDIS Funding

At PSPS, we value community input.
