Book Fair Wrap Up

Thank you to everyone who attended our Book Fair.  Whether you purchased items, donated books, came for a look or entered our competition we applaud you all for loving literature and book shops!

We sold a whopping $6160.00 worth of books! Incredibly, the same total as last year!!

Our school receives 30% of sales in credit for use at Lamont Books.  This supports us in so many ways; from building author/subject collections in the Library, to purchases that support our curriculum and special requests.

We are so grateful to our school community for making the Fair such a wonderful success.

***Photographed above are Marley and Violet who won our Book Cover design competition.  All entries were of a very high standard, we will create a book to capture the students creativity.

Library Lunchtime

National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, family day cares, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country. Now in its 24th successful year, it is a colourful, vibrant, fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, using an Australian children's book that explores age-appropriate themes, and addresses key learning areas of the National Curriculum for Foundation to Year 6.

Our Library Captains will share the book for students who would like to attend our special NSS lunchtime reading and activity session.

This is a fabulous event for our students to enjoy a bright, colourful and happy reading event.
