SAVE THE DATE! 2024 Music Camp

All Year 7 to 12 musicians in co-curricular ensembles, as well as those interested in joining an ensemble in 2024, are invited to attend our 2024 Music Camp from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th April, at the Y Camp, Yarramundi.

Departing Friday morning and returning Sunday early evening, we have a long weekend of music and fun planned at the Y Camp in Yarramundi. More details and booking information will be available in Term 4, 2023.

Australian Honours Ensemble Program

The Australian Honours Ensemble Program (AHEP) is run annually by the Queensland Conservatorium. Established in 2018, AHEP has grown to include a wind orchestra, string orchestra, vocal ensemble, symphony orchestra and big band.

Congratulations to Maeve Magner (Year 12) and Iluka Horn (Year 9) who successfully auditioned for inclusion in AHEP. Both students were accepted into the Alfred Hill Orchestra, which provided a wonderful opportunity to work under experienced conductors and perform with other talented students from across Australia. The program concluded with a gala concert on Saturday, 30th September. 

JMC Songwriting Competition

Congratulations to those students who made a submission to the JMC Songwriting Competition.

The Competition was open to students in Years 9 to 12 from NSW, ACT, Victoria and Queensland. The aim of the annual competition is to highlight the talent of high-school songwriters from across the country and to showcase the creativity of young people – and highlight it has! JMC received an overwhelming response to the competition over all three JMC campuses (Sydney, Brisbane & Melbourne), and are excited to go through the submissions. Congratulations to each of you for your submissions, and to your teachers for their support of your creative endeavours.

JMC had hoped to make the winning announcement sooner, but have had to extend to end of October. So sit tight – the announcement coming soon!
