ART

Lots of construction and sculpture happening in Art this week! F-2 students have been planning and began constructing their ‘gingerbread houses’ this week with recycled objects. In the coming weeks they will paint and decorate them to look like gingerbread houses. 3-6 students used paper mache and plaster techniques to cover their armatures of their bunny, cat and dog sculptures. They are all looking fantastic and cant wait to paint them!

The annual MacKillop Art Exhibition opens this Friday night (see the banner below for more information) and we congratulate Will, Angus, Shila, Addison and Maddy for their amazing artworks that will be displayed at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Bendigo.

SPORT

Our cricket representatives did a fantastic job last week representing St Patricks at Campaspe Primary Schools T20 cricket. The girls came away with one win, the boys had some very tough competition. The students demonstrated awesome dives for the ball, hitting 6er's, some ripper bowling and great fielding working as a team. It was fantastic to see the teams supporting each other and demonstrating great sportsmanship.

In our Thursday Sport lesson we have continued with soccer, focusing on dribbling, long distance passing and game sense. There have been some spectacular skills demonstrated so far. Keep up the great work Sporty Paddys!

STEM

In STEM, the F-2 students spent time learning about the Guide to Healthy Eating and explored each of the different food groups. The students talked about the types of foods found in each group and the benefits they offer. They were given lots of different food pictures and had to cut them out and paste them in the correct food group.
