Christmas Hampers for Junction 142
The Christmas spirit of giving is back again at Blue Mountains Grammar School with the
Christmas hampers. As some of you know, we make Christmas hampers of clothes, toiletries, food, toys and various products for all ages for Junction 142.
Please bring in donations to Tutor and place them in the Hamper Basket. See PDFs below for some ideas:
Years 7 and 8: Young Children’s Christmas Hamper
Year 9: Teenagers Christmas Hamper
Year 10: Female Christmas Hamper
Year 12: Male Christmas Hamper
Due date: from Tuesday 21st – 23rd of November during Tutor Time
Location: Art & Design Foyer
For those who may not yet have heard of Junction 142 is a community charity hub in Katoomba which helps those less fortunate in our local community. It also has Blue Mountains Food Rescue which operates by preparing meals and serving them or distributing them to people in need by offering the Open Table brunch throughout the week.
Another component of the hub is providing a place for people in need to shower, do their laundry and for temporary accommodation. Over the last few years, Blue Mountains Grammar School has taken pride in providing food, clothing and other donations via our Christmas Hampers to Junction 142. We will be doing so again this year. As always we need your help to encourage your Tutees to bring in items!
What does all this mean? Each tutor group will receive a basket to fill with non-perishable
food, clothes, toys/games or toiletry products. Each year group will have a different age bracket for products to bring in as well as a suggested list of items.
We ask that all the items you bring are brand new and not opened. Long life foods are better instead of foods that need refrigeration or have a short shelf life. We ask you bring this into your tutor and fill up your basket as much as you can. Christmas themed products are also welcomed. e.g. Bon Bons
We will be collecting the baskets full of donations on the morning of the 21st - 22nd November during Tutor Time. Each Tutor are to bring them down to the Art & Design foyer, so please don’t leave it to the last minute!
Thanks again for all your support for this wonderful charity and thanks in advance for your
contribution to the Junction 142 Christmas Hamper over the next few weeks.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. Thank you in advance for supporting and encouraging your children with continuing with this initiative.
