We had a fantastic day last Wednesday with our Writing Day. Our focus was students producing their best story, implementing all strategies and key learnings throughout the year. It was a great, fun, and relaxing day with all students being successful. There was a great turn out of students dressing up, especially by one student, however there was great subtle items like keys around necks and other props.
Check out some sentences and pictures below.
Mackenzie - "At the end of a crooked path an old moss-covered sign read "witches' forest", although it looked scary and endless, I still wanted to go in."
Anson - "Nayt goes in the forest and finds 6 keys dangling off a tree branch, he knows he has to take them so he does, and heads home. He gets home and his house is destroyed!"
Marcus - "The lady led me to a tall dragons blood tree in the middle of the forest. The branches were twisting and turning, you could mistake them for veins."
Reece - " Crocs were swimming in a circle it looked like the sharks in the movies when someone has to walk the plank. We ended up climbing up a little bit higher and the tide went down."
Travis - " Dan was counting his keys on his favourite branch when he noticed there was only 7 (supposed to have 8). Dan freaked out."
Lily - "As the wind sang it brushed through young and old trees making new possibilities for only one to unlock."
Week 10 - Friday 8th December - TBA time (Possibly afternoon 2:30ish)
We would like to invite all families to support our 'Grand Bazaar Market.
More details to follow in the coming weeks.
We had 17 students participate last week in the Division Cricket competition at Wendouree Reserve. The boys, who played 3 games, competed well winning 1 game and losing the others. They came up against some handy competition, however, they enjoyed their time together, hitting, bowling, and running around in the sun.
The girls, wow, what they achieved was something special. Only having 2 games in their round robin, they averaged winning by more than 60 runs each game making it to the semi-final. We played Mt Clear and kept them to 37 runs, in response we made 140! They made it to the Grand Final, a fair accomplishment to a team of girls that 6 out of 8 of them had never played a game before. They came up against a Black Hill team, who have multiple girls who play Ballarat Cricket, and put up a great fight, however, going down to them. No Beaufort team has ever made the final of this level!
Well done to all students who represented the school.
A HUGE thank you to Mr Reid and Tamara Smith who helped out on the day!
