State Schools' Spectacular
Lewis Cook chats with Cindy Frost about his experience
The Victorian State Schools Spectacular is one of Melbourne’s biggest live song, dance and lighting extravaganza. Each year students from all over the state participate in the massed choir, dance ensembles, orchestra, specialty acts and soloists. Year 12 student, Lewis Cook has just performed at his last Schools Spectacular, here is what he had to say about the experience.
How long have you been involved?
This is my fourth year of Spec. I started in year 9 and have done it every year since then.
What did you perform this year?
This year I was featured in The World is Ours, Mr Blue Sky, Can’t Hold Us, and Age of Reason
What have you learnt through doing Spec?
Over the experience I have learn quite a lot through Spec. It has taught me so much about confidence and stage presence, as well as getting familiar the more technical parts like microphones, in-ears foldback, performing to a camera compared to a live audience, and much more.
What else do the fans need to know 😊?
I plan on doing a lot more music and performing after school, further education in music at uni, as well as usual gigs and taking all performance opportunities I can get.
Congratulations to Lewis for his hard work and commitment to many hours of rehearsal and performances over the past four years.
