Thank you so much for supporting our school. In Term 4, we are again hosting a Colour Explosion School Fun Run!  In 2023, students raised an incredible $13,000 for the school (and had a blast on the day!!). All money generated by the event will go directly to the PFA which is used to benefit our children and school environment. Last year, funds raised went towards DASH robots for STEM/Science and a new BENQ Interactive Board for the 5/6 level.

When is the Colour Explosion School Fun Run? We will be hosting our Colour Explosion School Fun Run on Friday 3rd of November. Each student will need to bring a WHITE shirt to wear during the Fun Run. They will be covered in non-toxic, biodegradable colour powder from head to toe!

How Does My Child Fundraise? Fundraising is easy – simply follow the instructions outlined in your child’s sponsorship booklet.  A letter and booklet was placed in your child's communication pack at the end of Term 3.  Your child will need to create a cybersafe fundraising profile at www.australianfundraising.com.au. All donations are to be made online.

Incentives and Prizes

At the end of our fundraiser students can order up to a total of 5 prizes based on their donations received. They can even mix and match! Extra incentives include:

  • Online Golden Coins – complete fun online tasks to redeem an extra $75 towards your prize credit.
  • Monty the Monstar’s Bonus Prizes – achieve milestones to unlock Monty’s bonus prizes.
  • Our school will win an extra $5,000 if we have the highest average fundraised amount per student in 2023.
  • A Play Station 5 Gaming Bundle – see your child’s sponsorship booklet for more!

We would love to encourage the gift of giving as part of this year's fundraiser. The St Vinnie's Christmas appeal will be held at the school in December, where children could donate one of their prizes (or more, if they wish to!) to go to families in need for Christmas.

We will provide reminders and any other key information along the way (including a call out soon for volunteers to help on the day).

Thanks in advance for your support, and happy fundraising!

2023 PFA Funding Proposals

Dear Parents, Staff and Students,
The PFA would like to invite the school community to submit proposals for the allocationof PFA funds to support and enhance the education and welfare of the children at OHR. This opportunity is available once every calendar year in accordance with the rules of the PFA.
Attached is the PFA Funding Proposal Application Form and an extract of the Fundraising Expenditure Policy, which is included in the rules of the PFA. All submissions will be reviewed by a fundraising sub-committee to ensure they meetfunding criteria outlined in the Policy.
Proposals for items of significant amounts to be funded over more than one year are encouraged. A plan outlining a potential longer-term delivery and expenditure should accompany the proposal.
The closing date for submissions is the 3rd of November 2023.  Please emailsubmissions to the PFA secretary, Lisa Cuteri (lcuteri@gmail.com) by this date.
To note, the PFA Fundraising Expenditure Policy and application process will be reviewed following this year’s process. Any changes will be communicated to the school community in 2024.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Linnea Reddie (and the PFA team)
