Netball Program
All grade 3/4/ 5/ 6 students completed a 4 week Netball unit during Physical Education lessons at the end of Term 3.
The program was run by Netball Victoria with Sporting Schools funding. The coach Melanie was excellent and together with myself the students learnt how to play and enjoy Netball. They refined their ball handling skills by learning specific netball passes, rules and postions. They are learning how to move to space and create opportunities to pass the ball down the court and score goals.
On November the 9th, EMR is running a Boys only Netball event for eastern schools.
60 schools are attending the gala day .
I have registered two teams and we will be practicing and organising teams in the coming weeks. The competition is open to any boy from grade 3/ 4/ 5 /6 there will be a cost involved for transport and staffing.
Here are some photos of our classes.
Basketball Program
Our 1/ 2 classes during Physical Education lessons have completed a 4 week program run by Knox Basketball, coach Ximena.
The students had so much fun learning the skills of dribbling, passing and bouncing.
The coach Ximena created fun warm up games and drills for the students to play.
On the final day we were visited by Ke Jhan , KJ from Knox Raiders state league one player. KJ and his team won the Australian League one Nationals in Perth in August. Please see attached flyer if interested in joining basketball.
