Deputy Principal, Wellbeing

 - Miss Kristen Waldron

It's that time of year when our Year 12 students prepare to finish their secondary schooling, embarking on new chapters and adventures. It's a bittersweet moment, filled with mixed emotions, as we celebrate their accomplishments and anticipate the exciting future that awaits them.

The departing Year 12s have left an indelible mark on our school, both academically and personally. Their work, dedication, and achievements have been inspiring to us all. Whether it's their academic accomplishments, their commitment to extracurricular activities, their participation in camps and outdoor activities, they have made an impact.

To honour and celebrate this group of young adults, we have organised a series of farewell events and activities. These celebrations will provide a fitting send-off for our Year 12s and allow the entire school community to come together in support and appreciation.

Saying goodbye is never easy. For the departing Year 12s, it's a time of excitement and anticipation as they look forward to new adventures, whether that's university, college, employment, or other paths. For our school community, it's a moment of nostalgia and pride as we watch these young adults take flight. The bonds they've formed, the lessons they've learned, and the growth they've experienced are all part of the tapestry of their school life.

As they move forward, our departing Year 12s carry with them the knowledge, skills, and values instilled in them during their time at The Hamilton and Alexandra College. We are confident that they will excel and make a positive impact on the world.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the parents, teachers, and staff who have guided and supported our Year 12s throughout their educational journey. Together, we have shaped the young adults they have become.

As we prepare to say our farewells, we wish our Year 12s every success, happiness, and fulfillment in their future endeavours. You will always have a special place in the College family, and we look forward to hearing about their continued success in the years to come.

IMPORTANT: Message from Susan McLean - Cyber Safety Expert

Overnight I received several messages from Susan McLean and other educational groups concerned about a social media threat this weekend.

Some Australian students have already received links via their social media accounts titled 'For You', or something similar, distributed by groups linked to the Israeli/Palestine situation which show very distressing videos.

Please be aware that groups are claiming that they will target young users of social media over the weekend. These videos can be hidden in 'fun' posts or targeted DMs.

We suggest that you speak to and monitor your children's social media over the coming days and weeks.
