Uniform and Personal Presentation

The College aims to work with families to ensure students are presented well for school and when representing the College. It is an expectation that students attend school and school-related activities in full and correct uniform relevant to that activity. We ask parents assist their sons in meeting these requirements by ensuring they own the necessary items and are reminded regularly to ensure they are meeting the required standard.

To and from school, and whenever in public, students are required to wear their full winter uniform, including formal hat and blazer. As such, every student from Year 5 to 12 is required to own a formal hat and blazer. Students who have training before or after school are still required to have their blazer and formal hat with them.

For sport, students are required to wear their marist training or playing gear to and from the venue. This includes closed in shoes and socks. At no time do thongs, crocs or Birkenstocks form part of the uniform and they are not to be worn. If students choose to take their boots off after games, they need to bring closed in shoes to change into.

Afternoon Detentions

From the start of Term 2 and moving forward, afternoon detentions will be conducted on Monday afternoon from 3:15pm-4:15pm.

As a formal sanction, students issued with an afternoon detention are expected to attend on the afternoon indicated. It is an expectation that this takes priority over other engagements, whether that be school or other. In the rare instance a student is unable to attend, parents need to communicate this with the member of staff who issued the detention and negotiate an alternate afternoon that week.

The decision to place a student on an afternoon detention is not taken lightly, and there are robust processes surrounding this to ensure appropriate communications with families occur. Families are asked to ensure their son understands the significance of the situation and meets the required commitment as a priority as failure to comply may result in a student facing further sanctions, including temporary suspension from co-curricular activities until the detention is completed, and/or an escalation to a Saturday detention for non-compliance with College expectations and processes.

Student Attendance

The College requires all absentees to be communicated via Parent Orbit. This includes all day absences, early departures and late arrivals. Instructions for adding an attendance record are set out below:

Student Absentees – Late Arrivals

Students are required to be at school before the first bell rings at 8:30am each morning.

Parents are required to advise the College if their son will be arriving late for school via Parent Orbit.

Students who arrive late are required to sign in at Student Admin before going to class. Parents will receive an SMS message if the student presents without an acceptable reason for being late.

Note: all morning training sessions finish before 8:00am, giving students ample time to change, eat and arrive at their pastoral group on time.

Students arriving late throughout the day are required to sign in at Student Admin before going to class.

Student Absentees - Early Departures

Parents are required to advise the College if their son will be leaving school early via Parent Orbit.

For students in Years 7 to 12 who are departing the College throughout the day, students must sign out at Student Admin before departing. If you would like to collect your son, please meet him at Tower Reception.

For students in Years 5 and 6, parents are required to come to Primary Reception to collect their son.
