Year 7 & 8 Workshop

Vermont Secondary College

Optus Digital Thumbprint workshops for Year 7 and 8, May 5,6,7

From Monday May 5 through to Wednesday May 7, Dom from Optus will be back delivering top class workshops on how to navigate AI safely along with keeping your personal information safe online. These workshops are free and will run for all year 7s and 8s during class times. Check Compass for time location of your workshop.

Through interactive scenarios and in-class engagement with GenAI applications, students gain knowledge to enhance their creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking, as well as strategies and skills to protect themselves from its misuse.

Optus provide a number of resources for families around online safety which you can access via this link. https://www.digitalthumbprint.com.au/parent-resources/

In the coming weeks of this term, Vermont will have the opportunity to participate in the Optus Digital Thumbprint workshops! These workshops are run by the wonderful Dom, who comes to Vermont every year for this very reason. The workshops that he runs talk through how to be safe online and ways we can help people through the cyber space. Keep a lookout for when your class is having the workshop!

As a parent, you want your child to enjoy technology safely. Hackers can steal your identity, pretend to be you and send private images/messages and hurtful content.
