Representative Trials
Xavier had a great experience competing at the NSWPSSA Hockey as member of the MacKillop Team. It was an extremely wet week with the first game abandoned but then many games followed with 4 wins and 2 losses. The MacKillop team came 2nd in their pool but unfortunately got knocked out in the semi final against Polding. Xavier played an integral part of the MacKillop team, scoring in 4 games across the tournament. We are so proud that Xavier has represented our school so proudly and we look forward to watching Xavier grow in the sport of Hockey in the years to follow.
This week Noah VD is showcasing his skill at the NSWPSSA AFL. Good luck Noah!
Lila, Rebecca and Noah were all successful in securing a spot on the Sydney Catholic Schools Touch Football Team. They will travel to Wagga to compete in the MacKillop Touch Trials mid June. Harry W proudly represented our school at the Sydney Rugby Union trial which finally went ahead with blue skies. Finally Jordan P, Abby W and Piper L will all run it out at the MacKillop Cross Country Trials in June after their placings from the Sydney Championships progressed them to the next level.
We wish all our Athletes the best of luck at their upcoming sport trials.
JERSEY UPDATE
Moving forward students who receive a jersey for any upcoming trial, gala day or interschool sport will be recorded as proof of this borrowing method. This will allow our school to continue to use these jerseys and have enough for all students to wear and represent our school proudly at the many sporting events we provide to all students. Once jerseys are washed and returned to the school office, our staff will mark that the jersey has been returned. Any jerseys not returned will incur a fee to replace this jersey.
Please check the wardrobes at home and return any jerseys of any style (singlet, soccer jersey or footy jersey) which belongs to the school. Thank you for the cooperation with this matter.
All Abilities Multi Sport Day
Sydney Catholic Schools are hosting the SCS Multi Sport Day for all abilities. This event will be held in Concord on Wednesday 2nd July (week 10). Parents are expected to transport their child to this event. Please view the attached flyer and register your interest here. This event does clash with year 4 Interschool Shark Tag but if you believe your child would benefit from this multi sport day, please show your interest. The Multi Sport Day is a fun and inclusive sports day for students with physical, intellectual, sensory and social-emotional disability and their mates. If you believe this will benefit your child please fill out this link to show your interest. Mrs Col, Mrs Augustus and Miss Devlin will be in touch with you.
During this day, individuals with and without a disability share the empowerment that comes with engaging in sport. Aimed at primary students aged 8-13 years with intellectual, social-emotional, sensory and physical disabilities, the days are an opportunity to have a go in a fun and inclusive environment. The unified program allows students to bring a buddy from their school to help them learn new skills and give them the confidence to participate and compete against other students.
These days are designed to:
- promote social inclusion
- provide students with a sense of connectedness
- build a sense of self
- encourage ‘giving it a go’
- foster a love of the game
The day involves:
- learning more about European Handball & Indoor Golf
- access to specialised coaching and adaptive equipment
- opportunities to network with students and teachers from other schools
- competing in games against other students
Benefits of attending the day include:
- building social wellbeing and friendships
- strengthening balance, coordination and mobility skills
- working as part of a team, collaborating and planning
- increased self-esteem through a sense of achievement
Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions.
INTERSCHOOL SPORT Term 2
Interschool Football Year 6 and Year 5
Due to the recent ground closures only our level 1 Year 6 interschool Football team were able to progress with interschool sport on Wednesday 28th May. It was a great day packed with exciting action and strong competition. We were extremely successful in our results with our girls team coming 1st, topping their pool. Our boys team finished 2nd in their pool and only missed out on the top spot due to having higher goals conceded throughout their round. Therefore our girls team will progress to the Interconference Play Offs on Monday 23rd June.
We now move on to Interschool Shark Tag which occurs for years 3-6 throughout the second half of this term and the start of next term. Please ensure you have provided consent for your child to attend this event.
League Tag Trials for Stage 3 Level 1
Congratulations to all nominated stage 3 girls who attended the League Tag trial for representation in the Level 1 team for interschool sport. The skill, determination, and sportsmanship displayed were truly inspiring. No matter the outcome, you should be proud of the effort you put in. We encourage all girls to continue with future trials and keep pushing forward. It is important to display resilience and never stop striving for the things you enjoy.

INTERSCHOOL SPORT OVERVIEW
This document has been shared with families of Years 3-6 which contains an overview of all Sydney Catholic Schools Interschool Sport for Stage 2 and 3 throughout 2025.
SCS Sporting Pathways - Representative
The Representative Pathway Sports will continue into Term 2 2025 with many sports already in the MacKillop Trial stage. This is because the representative sport calendar season with Sydney Catholic Schools runs from Term 4 2024 to Term 3 2025.
Year 5 and Year 6 students have the opportunity to represent St Patrick’s at trials to progress through the pathway system. The sports they will be able to trial for are varied and many are open to both boys and girls.
To be considered for selection to represent St Patrick’s students require experience and to be playing the sport as a registered player at a high level of skill outside of school. This should be in the form of a regular, structured rep, Division 1 or equivalent A level competition. Parents had the opportunity to nominate their child via an electronic form last year. This form will be re-sent during Term 3 2025 to gather any new or updated information regarding your child's sport involvement outside of school. Nominations for this sports calendar season have closed as trials have commenced.
