CSEF Information

Financial Assistance Information for Parents

Camps, Sports & Excursions Fund (CSEF).

Every Victorian child should have access to the world of learning opportunities that exist beyond the classroom. The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund, will ensure that no student will miss out on the opportunity to join their classmates for important, educational and fun activities.

School camps provide children with inspiring experiences in the great outdoors, excursions encourage a deeper understanding of how the world works and sports teach teamwork, discipline and leadership. All are part of a healthy curriculum. CSEF will be provided by the Victorian Government to assist eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities.

If you hold a valid means-tested concession card or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible for CSEF. The allowance will be paid to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions, or sporting activities for the benefit of your child. The annual CSEF amount per student will be:

• $256 for secondary school students.

How to Apply:

You will need to provide a copy of your current Health Care Card with the application.

Parent application close 28 June 2025.

Claiming Your CSEF Benefit

You will be able to claim your CSEF on Compass when giving consent for events.

Compass CSEF Payments & School Savings Bonus

We are pleased to advise that families can now nominate to use SSB via Compass in a similar way to nominating CSEF. If families have available SSB Activities funds, there will now be an option to 'Use SSB funds' at the payment section of an event. It will also show the balance of SSB Activity funds remaining.

Please remember that families must nominate school activities on the SSB website before being able to use the funds. We strongly advise families to do that well in advance as it can take many days for the allocation to come through and then be processed locally, and funds cannot be used until that has been completed.

If you have any questions, please contact the General Office, or the SSB team directly.
