Boys Netball

On Tuesday 13 May, our Year 8 Intermediate and Senior Boys Netball Teams went to Knox Regional Netball Centre to compete against other schools for a chance to move through to EMR.

The Year 8 boys fought hard all day with the blue team winning all their games and the maroon team only losing 1 by a couple of points to our blue team. All the boys displayed great sportsmanship throughout the day and we respectful to the other schools and umpires, which was great to see.

We saw some spectacular intercepts by our defenders, some incredible passages of play and some even greater goals when students were jumping mid-air or falling out of court. All the Year 8 boys should be very proud of their efforts, we are very excited so head through to the next round.

Our Year 9 and 10 Intermediate Boys Netball teams represented the school with pride, competing against several local schools.

The Wantirna Blues were in outstanding form, going undefeated throughout the day. The Maroons also impressed, narrowly losing just two games against strong opposition. A standout moment was the final match between our two teams — a thrilling, high-intensity contest filled with turnovers and full-court pressure.

Both teams earned a spot in the finals, showcasing the depth of talent and teamwork in our program. Ultimately, it was the Wantirna Blues who emerged victorious and will now progress to the next stage of the competition.

Congratulations to all players on a fantastic day of netball!

A massive thank you to our student coaches and student umpires who assisted on the day.

Girls Netball

Our Year 9 and 10 Netball teams hit the courts at the Knox Regional Netball Complex this week with enthusiasm and determination. Both teams were selected in the highly competitive A Grade division, and the early morning nerves—perhaps helped along by a very cool breeze—were soon focused on the games ahead.

Throughout the round robin matches, both teams displayed skill, teamwork and perseverance, earning well-deserved wins along the way. With growing confidence, each team powered through their first finals match, securing strong victories.

In an exciting twist, the final game of the day saw the two teams face off against each other in a friendly but competitive showdown. After a hard-fought match, Team A emerged victorious but all players should be incredibly proud of their efforts and sportsmanship throughout the day.

Special thanks go to Miss Mackenzie, Shayla Moran and Kate Johnson for their enthusiastic support on the side lines as well as Bianca Mizzi, who ensured everything ran smoothly behind the scenes.

Congratulations to all involved on a fantastic day of netball!
