Week 3 Greeting
It’s been wonderful to see everyone settling back into the rhythm of Term 2 over the past couple of weeks. As we ease into the term, we’ve certainly noticed the change in weather—cooler mornings followed by surprisingly warm afternoons! With the inconsistent temperatures, we’re also seeing a few seasonal sniffles going around. We encourage all families to stay well by dressing appropriately for the weather, keeping up good hygiene habits, and ensuring children get plenty of rest. Let’s work together to support our students’ health and wellbeing during this transitional time of year.
Policy Update
We’d like to bring your attention to two important policy updates that will come into effect, which was approved by our School Council during the Tuesday meeting. The first is a revision to our Sun Protection Policy, and the second is an update to our Student Dress Code Policy. The key change in both policies is the introduction of a new requirement for all students to wear a broad-rim hat from 15 August through to 30 April each year, as part of our continued commitment to sun safety. We will provide reminders to families as we approach August. If you have any questions about these updates, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office or reach out to me directly. Your feedback and support are always appreciated.
School Open Day
We are also excited to invite everyone to our School Open Day this Saturday—a wonderful opportunity for prospective families to explore our learning spaces and connect with our vibrant school community. While this event is designed for those considering joining our school, we warmly welcome our current families to stop by, enjoy a sausage sizzle or a treat from the cake stall, and soak up the atmosphere in front of the Prep building. Many of our student leaders will be joining Mr Strain and me to welcome new families and share what makes our school so special. I’m really looking forward to working alongside our leaders on Saturday morning as they showcase the pride they have in their school.
Snapshot from the Classroom
On one of the recent sunny mornings, I had the pleasure of visiting the Y1/2 students during Miss Molloy’s Physical Education lesson. The students were fully immersed in the "engage" phase of the session, showcasing their incredible listening skills and ability to work as a team. Miss Molloy guided them with clear, purposeful instructions as they worked together to manipulate the colourful parachute in synchronised movements, forming different shapes with it. It was a delight to witness such enthusiasm, cooperation, and joy among those students! After the engagement stage, students practised specific skills required to play netball.
