Principal's News

Good morning Families,
We warmly congratulate students who celebrated their First Eucharist at Holy Rosary Church on Saturday evening. We thank our families, staff and parish community for their support and preparation of the children for this important occasion. Special thanks to Father Andrew for celebrating Mass in his usual upbeat and welcoming manner, and to Terence for contributing to the music. I acknowledge Sarah who prepared the liturgy and conferred with Father Andrew and Allison, JP and Ava who made sure students had understanding of the sacrament. Allison and Sarah also worked hard to make sure the children were confident in their participation in the Mass. Finally, commendations to our candidates who participated thoughtfully and reverently in this celebration, recognising the importance of this time in their faith journey. May this First Eucharist strengthen the children’s faith and connection with God. This Sunday we will celebrate with St Brendan's at 10:30am.
Attendance
Regular school attendance plays a vital role in every child’s learning, wellbeing and sense of connection to school. When children attend school consistently, they are better able to build strong relationships, develop routines, engage in learning, and experience success academically and socially. Even occasional absences can impact a child’s confidence, progress and connection with their peers and teachers.
At Holy Rosary, we have an important duty of care to ensure all children are safe and accounted for each day and accurate attendance records are an essential part of this responsibility. We ask families to please notify the school of absences before the start of the school day. This includes advising the office when you will be late due to external appointments.
If you do receive a text message from us regarding your child’s absence, please respond promptly. This assists us in confirming your child’s safety. Should parents not respond when a text is sent, we will call emergency contacts and failing that, police to do a welfare check.

There will be a Builder's Walkthrough this week as we move closer to selecting the builder for our capital works which will begin in Term 3.

Enrolments
Our first round of Foundation (Prep) 2027 enrolments will close on Friday 29th May.
MACSeye
Last week I met with Molly Brilliant, the newly appointed Area Manager for our MACSeye Service. I outlined some matters recently brought to my attention and continued to state the case for a regular school holiday program at HR. Molly has raised this for further consideration. Let's hope we can see some results from our ongoing campaign. You will note under the MACSEYE tab there is a newsletter update for you from Melody.
Here's to a wonderful week ahead,
Christine
