I moved to Australia at the age of 24 and have been building my life here ever since, gradually becoming part of the community. I enjoy learning, reflecting, and growing—especially through family life and being involved in my children’s education. On weekends, I spend part of my time teaching at the Victorian School of Languages. As a family, we enjoy being outdoors—walking, talking, and spending time together. I also value quiet, simple moments at home. We’ve been part of the Carnegie Primary School community since 2020 and have experienced a lot alongside the school, including the covid years. Over time, I’ve been involved in small ways—excursions, events, and activities—and joining the School Council felt like a natural next step to contribute more meaningfully. What makes the school special to me is its people. Teachers, students, and families all shape the environment together. I also really appreciate the feel of the school, its size, and its location. Of course, like any community, there can be challenges. But I believe a strong school community is one that is willing to face those moments together—to pause, talk, adjust, and move forward. When we do that, we create a place where children feel safe, accepted, and supported.School is where children spend a big part of their lives, day after day. Feeling comfortable in that environment builds confidence, and confidence supports learning and growth. I would hope for every child to grow into a confident and happy adult. I see my role on the School Council as being part of that process—supporting a positive environment where all children can feel they belong and develop into their best selves.
