Christmas Concert!

Last Thursday demonstrated the outstanding positive school culture that we have here at St Joseph's Bulli. The whole school grounds were bursting with students, staff, parents and families. There was a great sense of Christmas spirit flowing throughout. Thank you to all who were involved in making the night such a memorable one! Thank you especially to the P&F committee who supplied a FREE sausage sizzle to compliment the night!

Advent

This Sunday, we continue the season of Advent and light the third candle, which represents JOY. I encourage you to set up your own Advent wreath at home and pray the following prayer:

God of our waiting, We light this candle to remind us that Mary accepted your invitation to be the mother of God.  We pray that you may deepen our spirit of joy so that we may carry the light of hope into the dark places of our world.

Bishop Brian releases new vision for parishes

On the solemnity of Christ the King, Bishop Brian shared his transformative vision for parishes in the Diocese of Wollongong. His heartfelt message echoes the beating heart of our communities—the person of Jesus. Come & See, Go & Make: A Vision for Parishes is an inspiring call to encounter Jesus, be transformed, and become disciples.

As Bishop Brian explains in Bearers of Christ’s Love: Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong Are a face of the Church and their close association with the life of the parish and therefore with the diocese cannot be separated. We encourage you to explore Bishop Brian’s vision for parishes and consider how we can each play a part in bringing it to life.

Come & See, Go & Make: A Vision for Parishes—the vision that Bishop Brian has developed.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas!

As this is the final newsletter for 2023, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the community of St Joseph’s Bulli for supporting the Catholic Life and Culture of the school. Having children attend a Catholic School is a great responsibility and takes a lot of commitment. There is no doubt that St Joseph’s Bulli is a thriving Catholic school community because of the commitment of both students, staff, parents and Parish.

With hearts full of anticipation, we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is a time when love, compassion, and the spirit of giving fill the air, reminding us of the profound significance this blessed occasion holds for us as Catholics.

Amidst the hustle and bustle of the season, it is easy to lose sight of the true meaning of Christmas. It is much more than beautifully decorated trees, shimmering lights, or exchanging gifts. Christmas is a celebration of hope, a reminder that God loved us so much that He sent His only Son into the world as a humble child, born in a manger. Christmas invites us to embrace the virtues of love, kindness, forgiveness, and compassion; virtues that Jesus embodied throughout His life. We are encouraged to extend these virtues beyond our families and into the wider community, spreading the light of Christ wherever we go.

I wish you and your loved ones a Christmas filled with abundant blessings, love, and peace. May the light of Christ illuminate your path and bring you great joy throughout the coming year.
