From the Principal's desk

Hello and welcome to the 2024 school year. I have been so impressed with the way our students have settled into the new school year. When I have been on yard duty or walking through the classroom it has been fantastic to see the students taking pride in their school and wearing the correct uniform. The new junior playground has been a hit at recess and lunch times with the seniors having some time on it during PE and sport.

Prep families

I would like to make a special welcome to all of our Prep students and their families. We welcome you to come into the school and say hello. For the next seven years Numurkah Primary School will play a huge role in supporting your child to learn and develop. The most important thing is the communication between your family and the school and bond that will develop.

Thursday Meet and Greet BBQ

We would like to invite all families to join us for a free BBQ and games between 4:30pm and 6:30pm this Thursday the 8th of February. Come and have a chat with staff in a very informal and relaxed afternoon. Enjoy a bit of healthy competition between family members and bring a picnic rug or chairs to enjoy the afternoon together. We hope to see as many families as possible.

Morning school arrival

Just a reminder to students arriving to school in the mornings. Students need to arrive as close to 8:45am as possible. If needing the drop your child to school early please book your child into TheirCare so they can be supervised. The building will be open from 8:45am for students to come in, put their bag away and get ready for the school day.

Victorian State School Spectacular

The Victorian State School Spectacular is an amazing performance run by the Department of Education each year. This year I have been able to secure some places for any Year 4 – 6 student who would like to be part of the performance as part of the mass choir. The performance is on the 14th September and is a very exciting journey for anyone involved (including the teachers). There is no cost to being part of the performance. The only cost for families will be if you need accommodation for the Thursday night before the performance in September for your child to stay with the staff. If you think this is something your child would be interested in please contact the school as I need a t-shirt size to send down to the organisers in Melbourne. I have been involved with the State School Spectacular for the past 20 years and it is a fantastic opportunity for our students to be involved in. I will also be talking to the students in these year levels this week and sending home expression of interest forms. Please feel free to contact me if you require any more information.

I look forward to another fantastic week!
