Our Very Hungry Caterpillars!!!.

We are learning about Metamorphosis in Correa group at kinder this term. We began with a kit from Butterfly Adventures which included some beautiful black, yellow and white caterpillars munching on milkweed.  The warm weather has sped up the development and within a week we had a chrysalis. We learnt about the cycle from egg to butterfly and watched videos of this happening on you tube. We, of course read The Very Hungry Caterpillar too!

We will watch carefully each day, noticing the changes and wait for a butterfly to emerge, They will be beautiful Monarch butterflies which we will feed and then set free.  What a wonderful way to start the year!
