Reminders & Homework

Reminders:

• Please ensure that students are bringing their red reader bags each day. These will be used to send home levelled readers (from Week 2) as well as some hard copy communication and assessment pieces.

The Homework expectations for this term are:

• Hearing your child read their take home book every night. After they have read, ask them to retell what happed at the beginning, middle and end of the story. Also ask questions focusing on who, what, when, why and where. Try to encourage them to relate the text to something in their lives.
• Reading the Magic 300 Words every week and optional spelling practice.
• Playing Maths Games with your child. Michael Minas provides a wide range of engaging, age-appropriate games with easy-to-follow videos. Link: Operations Games (F-2) — Love Maths
• Explore exciting websites and iPad apps: 
  -  Nessy (Online Literacy Platform)
  -  Matific (Online Maths Platform) 
  -  PMeCollection (Digital Levelled Reader Collection).
