Empowering Leadership: Aberfoyle Park High's New Student Representative Council

Aberfoyle Park High School has always been committed to fostering leadership and camaraderie among its students, and this year, we're thrilled to introduce our new Student Representative Council (SRC). The enthusiasm and dedication of our student body have been evident from day one, and now, with the establishment of the SRC, students have an even platform to voice their ideas and drive positive change within our school community.

The inauguration of the SRC was met with great excitement as students received their badges and certificates during the welcome assembly at the beginning of the school year. These symbols not only represent their official roles as student leaders they also signify their commitment to serving their peers and making Aberfoyle Park High an even better place for everyone.

One of the first initiatives of our SRC has been the implementation of Peer Leadership program, particularly focusing on welcoming and supporting our newest members, the Year 7 students. SRC members have taken on the role of Peer Leaders, offering guidance, friendship, and a sense of belonging to the younger students as they navigate their way through their first year of high school. The peer support not only helps integrate Year 7 students into our school community but also fosters a culture of empathy and inclusion among all students.

Looking ahead, we have an exciting event planned for the upcoming school sports day—a BBQ hosted by our SRC. This event promises to be a fun-filled day of sports, food, and positivity, where students can come together to celebrate their achievements and enjoy each other's company in a relaxed and festive atmosphere.

In addition to our school-based activities, we are proud to announce that all SRC leaders will be attending the Youth Leadership Academy Leadership Training Summit at the Adelaide Convention Centre in early March. This summit will provide our student leaders with invaluable opportunities to develop their leadership skills, engage with peers from other schools, and gain insights from experienced mentors and speakers. We believe that this experience will not only benefit our SRC members personally but will also equip them with the tools and knowledge to drive positive change within our school and beyond.

As we embark on this journey with our new Student Representative Council, we are filled with optimism and excitement for the opportunities that lie ahead. Together, we will continue to uphold the values of leadership, service, and community that define Aberfoyle Park High School, and together, we will strive to make a positive difference in the lives of our students and our school community.
