Senior Boys Cricket

Results are in!

Our Senior Boys Cricket team recently became our first to compete in Interschool Sport for 2024, locking horns in a 20/20 showdown with a strong Wodonga Senior Secondary College XI at Wareena Park.

Captain Ned O'Kane won the toss and elected to bat, and opening batsmen Tom Ford and Euca Boonzaayer looked solid in the first over against a nifty swing bowler, until Euca ran himself out in the 2nd over looking for a quick single that probably wasn't there.

The Skipper and #3 O'Kane joined Vice Captain Ford at the crease and the two multi-talented Year 11s dug in for our biggest partnership of the day, with Tom getting a start before finding himself caught out for 10. Ned crept to 10 purely on singles before opening the shoulders and smashing a boundary, on his way to a Top Score of 17 before falling LBW.

It was slim pickings for our batsmen after that, with Ned and Tom the only players to reach Double Figures, and #8 Jack Lockhart the only other to score a boundary. We crawled to a total score of 56 from our 20 overs, which Wodonga Senior chased down in just 8 overs without losing a wicket.

Thank you to the boys for representing us today, to new staff member Ash Clayton for coaching, and Brandon Ryan for being there to support the boys as well.
