Reconciliation Week

Reconciliation Week is an annual event taking place from 27 May to 3 June. It is dedicated to fostering understanding and respect of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and unity between all Australians.

Reconciliation week marks the anniversary of two significant milestones; the 1967 Referendum, which amended the Constitution to include Indigenous Australians in the census, and the historic Mabo decision, which recognised Native Title.

The 2024 theme is ‘Now More Than Ever’ reminding us, no matter what, the fight for justice and rights for our Indigenous Australia is a must.  To celebrate this historical week the Year 3- 6 students will perform at assembly, singing the song Black fella/ Whitefella by The Warumpi band.
