S'Port For Girls 'Brasket'
A big thank you to Wantirna College Staff, Students and Community for the support during the S'PORT for GIRLS 'BRASKET' campaign that we ran during International Women's Day/Week last term.
Sadly, many girls are forced to give up playing sport when their developing bodies make it too uncomfortable to participate. Due to financial constraints, they can’t afford to buy the sports bras required to enable them to continue to play comfortably. Our community decided to try to help make a difference by collecting as many sports bras as possible to ensure these girls can continue pursuing their passion for sports.
We collected and raised 55-60 pre-loved sports bras for Green Kenya's football academy in Nairobi. Ian and Sue the founders of the 'BRASKET' campaign were absolutely thrilled and eternally grateful to collect two full bags from our College today.
They will be leaving for Kenya at the end of this month, for 6 weeks, to conduct training sessions in local schools and help in their orphanages. What an amazing couple they are. They cannot wait to deliver our sports bras to the young women of Nairobi. They have promised to keep us up to date on their travels.
