Africa Day / Dom Tom Day is next Friday – let’s get ready to celebrate.  

 

We still need some additional volunteer to assist with up the activities, running some childhood games or selling food. Please sign-up to assist here:

 

 

AFRICA DAY / Dom Tom Day – 14 June 2024

In two weeks we will celebrate the very first Africa Day /Tom Don at CJC from 3.30 to 5.30! There will be a dance lesson, face painting, music, badge making, African food (corn cobs, beignets, Gateaux Manioc, Mauritian curries, and banana cake) and traditional childhood games including: 

  1. Potato and spoon race
  2. Bike tyer race
  3. Tin can knock-down
  4. Mbube Mbube (blindfolded animal hide and seek)

2nd Hand Uniform Sale 

 

The second hand uniform shop will run a sale on Thursday, 13 June  from 8.50 – 9.30am.  Electronic sales only. 

 

Events for the Remainder of Term 2

 

Fête de la Musique: The PC will run an event for fete de musique on 21 June, 2024.  There will be a festive atmosphere, food, music and the premier of the CJC Parent’s band!  See our separate page in the newsletter on this event and how to register to help and PERFORM!! 

 

Friday Treats:   We will sell pain aux chocolate ($4) from Reverie Café after school from 3.30pm until 3.45pm. 

  

CJC Families Facebook Group: Did you know that we have a CJC Facebook Group called CJC Families?  The page is used to inform our community of CJC Events, sell 2nd hand uniform, find a babysitter and more. The page is private, and you must be a CJC community member and answer the questions to join. 

 

EFM - Call for Volunteers: The EFM provides a range of francophone services to our CJC community, including running the ever-popular EFM after school activities. The EFM is looking for additional volunteers to support the management of these programs and other programs. Joining the EFM IS a great way to deepen your francophone connections at CJC and beyond. Please contact president@efm.org.au if you can assist. 

 

Gardening Club:  We also have some interested parents who have established a CJC Parent Gardening Team to assist Madame Wilson’s STEM and Garden Program.  Contact us at caulfieldjuniorpc@gmail.com  

 

For all parents and carer’s wishing to volunteer at the school it is essential that you obtain your Working With Children Check – you can apply on line here and it is free for volunteers: Working with Children Check (service.vic.gov.au)
