Classroom Connections

Music in action

Our budding musicians in Year 3 and 4 have been grooving to the beat, exploring the fascinating world of musical form and the structure of songs. Lately, they've been focusing on the catchy concept of ostinato, a musical pattern that's sure to get stuck in your head.

In our Music classes, students aren't just learning—they're creating, responding, and jamming together with their peers and teachers. They're not only building their musical knowledge and skills but also mastering the art of playing independent rhythms over a steady beat. It's all about making beautiful music and having a blast while doing it!

Democracy, Community & Me 3 & 4 Incursion

After learning about democracy and systems of government in Australia throughout the term, the Grade 3/4 students had an opportunity to participate in a local government council meeting role play during an incursion ‘Democracy, Community & Me’. Taking on the roles of Councillors and residents, students contributed their opinions to the debate, gaining a better understanding of the democratic process. They even experienced a mock-election in the local government, learning about preferential voting and absolute majorities in the process. The incursion reinforced and consolidated their learning about how rules, laws, and local government support our community.

Our Preps dressed up for school

The Prep rooms were like a zoo this morning!  Students and teachers dressed up to celebrate the characters of their favourite reading books “Little learners love to read”.  Very cute and funny costumes indeed!

Les classes de Grande section ce matin étaient comme un zoo !  Élèves et professeur ont célébré les personnages de leurs livres de lecture préférés “Little learners love to read”.  De très jolis costumes, d’autre rigolos !
