Leadership Communication
Reconciliation Week - 27 June to 3 July
Staff and students recognised Reconciliation Week 2024 in a variety of ways. Beginning conversations about the importance of Reconciliation Week as a way of acknowledging the past and finding a way to work towards a more just future for our First Nations peoples is important work. Students and teachers learned about the important dates of 27th of June, marking the successful 1967 Referendum, and 3rd of July, marking Mabo Day and the historic Native Title claim. These dates outline Reconciliation Week every year.

Enthusiastic Social Justice Leaders
We are blessed at St Thomas the Apostle with students who live out the charism of the school by being curious about the situation of others and the Earth and who can identify ways in which they can act to bring about a more just world.
Recently we celebrated World Environment day with a coloured clothes event organised by a group of Year 5 students. These students had an idea and worked through a series of questions in order to support their planning and marketing of this day. They enthusiastically rose to each challenge and identified ways to share their thinking and concern for the Earth.
We commend them for their efforts and appreciate the model of social justice action that they offered.
