Dear Parents,

Sunshine, smiles, yummy treats and money raised for Daffodil Cottage - what a special morning at Bathurst Public School. Thank you to our Stage 2 and 3 families and Wally Wombat Cafe for donating goodies, and to all the families who supported our "morning tea of hope".

We are very proud to donate the morning's proceeds of $1335 to Daffodil Cottage, a service that provides not only treatment but also support and care for local cancer patients and their families.

Congratulations to our netball team, which won their match against Eglinton PS today by 18 to 7, and to their super coach, Miss Reedy.

Congratulations to Hannah Skein and Lachlan Abbott, who represented the Western Region in tennis last week. They formed part of a five-girl and five-boy Western squad that competed at the NSW State Championships in Newcastle. Some wonderful matches were played against tough competition from all over the state.

Hannah won some of her matches in both singles and doubles throughout the tournament. The Western girls' team achieved the highest placing of any regional girls' tennis team in State Tennis Championship history, finishing 7th overall. WOW!

Lachlan competed in both singles and doubles, playing some great tennis against incredibly tough opposition. The boys' team also ranked well, finishing 10th overall. Congratulations, tennis superstars Hannah and Lachlan!

Attendance

We are beginning to see the impact of the change in weather, with some students needing to stay home due to illness.

Remember, if your child needs to be away for more than two days, you will need a medical certificate. You can email this to the school or hand it to the office on the day of your child's return.

We know that sometimes it can be a challenge getting your child to school, especially if they are experiencing anxiety or are refusing to attend school.

They might be worried about their schoolwork, talking with other kids or teachers, playing sports or being away from their family. If you are concerned about your child's attendance at school or any other issues that may affect their attendance, please reach out to me or one of your child's teachers.

We are here to support you and your child to make sure they are ready and engaged at school.

You can also access resources on the department website to support positive conversations with your child about attending school.

If any parent has concerns regarding any aspect of school life, please do not hesitate to contact me.
