Intermediate Soccer
Game 3 2024
After a couple of weeks off, the Intermediate Soccer Team played their third game of the Champion Schools Football Cup season, hosting Kelmscott SHS. Both teams were undefeated in the competition so far and were looking to maintain their unbeaten runs. After a back-and-forth start to the game with both teams having several opportunities, Mazenod eventually took control, striking two quick goals through Marcus M and Daniel B. We went to half-time with a 2-nil advantage. Kelmscott fought back in the second half scoring their first goal to put Mazenod under serious pressure, they continued to pepper the Mazenod goal but were unable to find the net.
Mazenod eventually sealed the game scoring a third goal through Hamish S in the last minute of the game.Ā

Thanks to Mr Wani and Mr Mason for their assistance in coaching the team and the parents who came and supported them. The team's next game is an away fixture against Kalamunda SHS in Week 8.
Year 8/9 Eagles Cup
Yesterday the Year 8/9 Eagles Cup team played Carine SHS at the College. Both teams were keen to continue their winning ways. The game was a back-and-forth first half with Mazenod taking a quick 2-goal lead before Carine settled and took control of the game. After a great motivational halftime speech by Mr Dawson, Mazenod came out firing in the second half.
Mazenod dominated the clearances and piled on some great forward pressure kicking 8 goals and running out dominant winners. It was a great performance by the whole team, in particular Zach T, who kicked 5 goals and a cheeky side goal that will be remembered for years to come. Well done to Marcello P and Joshua S for their dominant ruck and clearance work. A big thanks to Mr Dawson and Mr Mallon who coached and ran the team.
