Term 2, Week 5

Welcome to Week 5 of our school newsletter! Over the past fortnight, our school has been abuzz with an array of exciting events and noteworthy achievements.

In-Depth Highlights

Successful Working Bee

Our school community recently gathered for a highly successful working bee, where parents, teachers, and students rolled up their sleeves to spruce up our school. From gardening to minor repairs, it was inspiring to witness everyone coming together to enhance our learning environment.

Annual Report Milestone

Our dedicated leadership team has diligently compiled the 2023 Annual Report to the Community, showcasing the remarkable accomplishments of our school over the past year. This comprehensive document has been submitted for review to the Northern Region Office and will soon be available for viewing on our school website. We encourage everyone to take pride in the collective achievements highlighted within.

Maths Olympiad Triumph

Amidst challenging questions and intense competition, our senior and middle school students participated in the Maths Olympiad with enthusiasm and determination. Their ability to tackle complex problems and employ critical thinking skills was truly commendable, underscoring our commitment to nurturing academic excellence.

Enriching School Tour Experience

Our recent school tour attracted a considerable turnout and was met with resounding praise from participants. If you still need to, please ensure you collect an enrollment pack for any siblings who may be joining us next year. We look forward to welcoming new members into our school community.

Celebrating Mother's Day with Heart

Our Mother's Day stall and activities were a heartwarming success, thanks to the meticulous planning and dedication of our teachers. It was a joy to see the female figures of our community gather with their children and grandchildren for a memorable celebration. The event served as a poignant reminder of the importance of family and community bonds.

Insightful Teaching for Impact Feedback Session

Led by MACS, our Teaching for Impact in Mathematics feedback session with the Prep and Junior team provided a platform for professional reflection and growth. Discussions ranged from strategies for differentiation to effective assessment practices, fostering a collaborative environment centred on enhancing teaching effectiveness.

Meaningful Senior Mass

Our recent Senior Mass, themed around “Holy Spirit”, provided a reflective and spiritually enriching experience for our senior students. It was a timely reminder of the values and principles that underpin our school community and preparing the students to receive the sacrament of confirmation.

Inform and Empower Webinar

A heartfelt thank you to all families who dedicated their time to attend our recent webinar, both online and onsite. Despite the late hour, the session proved to be incredibly insightful, offering valuable guidance on supporting our children in managing screen time and navigating social media responsibly. The school has invested financially this year to actively promote with our students, families and staff the critical importance of supporting our children in a digital age.

Year 5 Visit to Sacred Heart and Salesian College

Each year, our Year 5 students are granted a unique opportunity to gain firsthand experience of high school life through a visit to Sacred Heart in Kyneton and Salesian College in Sunbury. This immersive experience entails engaging in interactive lessons, touring the school grounds, and actively participating in insightful Q&A sessions.

Under the guidance of our dedicated staff, students embark on a journey of exploration, broadening their horizons and gaining valuable insights into the transition to secondary education. The visit not only fosters academic curiosity, but also nurtures important social and emotional skills, preparing our students for the next phase of their educational journey.

We are immensely grateful for the longstanding and exceptional partnership we share with both secondary schools, as their commitment to providing enriching experiences greatly enhances the educational landscape for our students. This collaborative effort underscores our collective dedication to empowering students with the knowledge and skills necessary for success.
