Principal's Report

Staffing

As we embark on the journey of Term 2, I am delighted to extend a warm welcome and welcome back to several staff members who have joined our Monash SDS community.

Teachers

We are excited to have Nicole Tucker one of our teachers returning to us. Nicole will be working three days a week in Group 8, bringing her valuable experience back to our classrooms. Our current Performing Arts teacher Andrew will also be transitioning to a dual role, spending two days in Group 8 to provide additional support and continuity for our students. Additionally, we have Hannah Brennan who has recently been appointed as classroom teacher for group 6.

Educational Support

Hugh Watson joins us as an Education Support (ES) staff member in Group 8. Nicola also joins us as a new ES staff member in Group 15 and also Lauren Joyce has already commenced in her role in group 21. 

We are confident they will enrich our school with their unique skills and dedication as they bring an enthusiasm and a commitment to supporting our students.

We believe these changes will significantly benefit our learning environment and look forward to the positive impacts they will have.

Polygot Sensory Theatre Show

We recently had the privilege of hosting the Polygot Sensory Theatre show, which was an outstanding experience for our students. This event was specifically tailored for our special needs community, providing an accessible and engaging performance that resonated deeply with our children. The sensory-rich environment allowed students to interact and respond in ways that supported their individual sensory needs. The show not only delighted our students but also encouraged self-confidence and independence through creative expression. It was heartwarming to witness the joy and enthusiasm on our students’ faces as they participated in this inclusive theatrical experience. We look forward to more such enriching events in the future.

We are grateful to all our staff, new and returning, for their continued commitment to creating a supportive and dynamic learning environment. Together, we are fostering a community where each student can thrive and reach their full potential.
