School Wide Positive Behaviour Support

A big focus of SWPBS is on teaching and reinforcing expected behaviours. At Hamlyn Views School we have our Matrix of expected behaviours which are linked to our school Values. This tool helps support staff and students with the teaching and learning of our expected behaviours.
Expected behaviours are reinforced through positive praise, tangible rewards which include our Monty Tokens, and privileges such as choosing a preferred activity. Positive praise works best when paired with specific task feedback to support students to make connections with what they are receiving the praise for. This also helps to encourage students to repeat that behaviour in the future. For example, "Great work showing respect by helping pack away the toys."
We are very proud of our students for their efforts in demonstrating our school values of Learning, Respect and Safety through our expected behaviou.
Students have continued to earn their Monty Tokens for displaying our expected behaviours and have been saving up their Monty Dollars to buy items from the mobile Monty Shop. Our Year 10 students help set up the mobile Monty Shop with lots of motivating items each week that our students can purchase with their Monty Dollars.
