Athletics – ISA Athletics Carnival

The ISA Athletics Carnival was a very successful day for St Patrick’s College, with many of our athletes achieving personal bests and several boys now selected to represent the ISA at theCIS Carnivalnext week.

  • Christian Harada had an outstanding day, qualifying for CIS in both the 100m and 200m. Isaac Joseph also earned his place in both sprint events, showing excellent form throughout the meet.

  • One of the standout performances came from Lincoln Griffiths, who threw an impressive 10.59m in Shotput — a huge personal best.

  • Mateusz Milewski impressed in the long jump with a strong PB, and

  • Scott Dunlop cleared 1.71m in the high jump, showing great progress and commitment. While just outside the CIS qualifying mark, Scott’s performance was a highlight in its own right.

To top off a fantastic day, our Intermediate Relay Team took out first place, showing brilliant teamwork and determination in a thrilling race, the Junior Relay Team came second in a fantastic race. Congratulations to all the boys who competed — your hard work, sportsmanship, and pride in representing St Patrick’s were on full display. We look forward to cheering on our CIS representatives next week.

Baseball Season Kicks Off for U14s and First IX

This past Saturday marked the beginning of the Baseball season for both the U14 Team and the First IX.

The U14s faced off against Kissing Point Stealers at the Golden Jubilee in what was the first ever game of Baseball for many of the boys. Despite the 8–15 loss, there were numerous positives to take away from the match. Coach Mr Tabbara was impressed with the team's enthusiasm and teamwork and is very optimistic about the season ahead. The boys showed great potential, and the experience gained in this opening fixture will no doubt serve them well in the coming weeks.

The First IX had a challenging start to their season, coming up against a strong and experienced Rosebank College side. While the final result wasn’t in their favour, the team displayed commendable intent and determination. They will take valuable lessons from this performance as they continue to build throughout the season. A special mention goes to Heath Patterson (Year 11), who was a standout both on the mound and at bat, narrowly missing a home run in an impressive individual effort.
