Thank you for a wonderful Term 3!

What a fantastic and action-packed term it has been! Term 3 has been full of memorable moments and opportunities for learning, growth, and fun.

Thank you to our dedicated staff, who have worked tirelessly to plan and deliver such rich experiences for our students. To our amazing students, thank you for your energy, enthusiasm, and willingness to give everything a go, and to our wonderful parent and school community, your ongoing support makes all the difference.

As Principal, one of the highlights for me during this time has been witnessing how the values that define Mount Pleasant Road Primary School are truly alive and well in our community. This term in particular, I’ve been reflecting on the value of Lifelong Learning. It’s been evident in so many ways, from our students building confidence and resilience during swimming lessons, to the teamwork and independence developed at school camps, and the energy, spirit, and sportsmanship on display during Footy Day, District Aths, our Basketball day and so many more events. These moments not only bring joy to our school community but also reinforce the importance of learning beyond the classroom. I’m incredibly proud of the way our school continues to foster a love of learning in our students.

Band Performance

Today, we had a phenomenal band performance that truly showcased the incredible talent and hard work of our students. The energy and passion they brought to the stage were nothing short of inspiring. We are so fortunate to have such wonderful music teachers who dedicate themselves to providing an exceptional and memorable experience for our school community.

Footy and Sports Day

On Monday, we kicked off the week with our Footy Day celebrations, beginning with a parade where students proudly dressed in their favourite sports and team colours, showcasing their team spirit and love for the sport. The excitement continued with a fun and energetic footy skills round-robin, where students rotated through a variety of activities designed to build their football skills, teamwork, and confidence in a supportive and inclusive environment.

A standout moment of the day was a special interview with Georgie Brisbane from the AFLW Fremantle Dockers, who shared insights into her journey as a professional athlete. She spoke about the importance of teamwork, resilience, and following your passion, leaving students feeling inspired and empowered.

A huge thank you goes to our incredible student leaders, who took the lead in planning, organising, and running the day's events.

Their enthusiasm, leadership, and teamwork ensured the day was a great success, and we are so proud of their efforts!

Disco

This week, our Performing Arts Captains took the lead in organising a fantastic Disco Day for our students. With great enthusiasm and attention to detail, they decorated the space to create a fun and festive atmosphere, bringing energy and excitement to every corner of the school. They also curated custom playlists tailored to each section of the school, ensuring that every year level had music suited to their tastes and energy levels.

The event was a huge hit with students, who thoroughly enjoyed dancing, laughing, and celebrating together. A big congratulations and thank you to our Performing Arts Captains.

Policies

We have recently added a new policy to our School Policy Library: the Preventing Racism in Schools Policy. This important policy outlines our school's commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all students, staff, and families. It sets clear expectations around recognising, preventing, and responding to racism in all its forms, and supports our ongoing efforts to promote equity, diversity, and belonging within our school community. We encourage all families and staff to familiarise themselves with the policy, which can be accessed through our School Policy Library. Together, we can continue to build a culture where every member of our school feels valued, respected, and free from discrimination.

HATS for SALE!!

Hats are available for purchase at the office for $12 each. If you need a hat, you can either come directly to the office to buy one or send the correct amount of money ($12) in an envelope. Please be sure to label the envelope clearly with your name (and hat size, if needed). Once received, the office will provide and label a hat for you. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the office for more information.

Movie night

The Parents and Friends Association has organised a fun and exciting Movie Night for our school community on Wednesday, 8th October at 6:00PM at Hoyts Forest Hill (Forest Hill Chase, Canterbury Rd, Forest Hill VIC 3131). We’ll be watching Bad Guys 2, and it’s sure to be a fantastic evening for families to come together and enjoy the big screen. Tickets are $17 each and went on sale from 9:00AM on Monday, September 8. Food and drinks can be pre-ordered when purchasing tickets. Bookings can be made online at www.trybooking.com/DFFOX. Please arrive by 5:45PM and remember that all children must be accompanied by an adult. We hope to see you there for a night of laughter, popcorn, and community fun!

Next term we will be collecting donations for our upcoming stalls. If you have any of the following items to spare, we’d greatly appreciate your support:

Tea cups, saucers, plates, and teapots for our Scones and Tea Stall - donations or borrowed for the day
Books, games, puzzles, and trash 'n' treasure items
Blocks of chocolate
Cans of soft drink

Planning for 2026 – Student Departures

As we begin planning for the 2026 school year, it's important for us to have an accurate understanding of our expected student numbers.

If your child will be leaving MPRPS at the end of 2025 or during the 2026 school year, we kindly ask that you notify the school as soon as possible.

Early notification helps us to plan staffing, class structures, and resources effectively to ensure the best possible learning environment for all students.

Exciting news

We wish Erin D all the very best as she heads off on family leave to welcome her twins! This is such an exciting and special time, and we couldn’t be happier for her and her growing family. Congratulations, Erin! We’ll miss you and can’t wait to hear all about your beautiful babies!

As school holidays have arrived, hopefully your schedule will slow down a little. We look forward to seeing you all refreshed and ready for an exciting Term 4!
