Kids Flix would like to invite children and their immediate families/carers to Kidsflix on Saturday the 24th of August 2024 at Wallis Cinema Mount Barker.

 

The Hospital Research Foundation Group - Kidsflix is a free movie morning for children and young people living with illness, special needs, disability or in a disadvantage situation. 

 

The event will be held in an inclusive and non-judgemental, sensory friendly environment and is 100% free to attend.

At the event we will have airbrush tattoo artists, a magician, music from Cool 4 Kids, characters from Cosplay for a Cause, followed by the screening of the movie 200% Wolf (rated PG) with Nippys Juices, Vege Chips and Bellis Fruit Bars.

We are very excited to host our 2024 AGM + Pitch To Win Night – this is our second community grants giveaway and we would love you to be involved!Come along and hear what Imagine Uraidla have been up to, take part in committee elections, and participate in our community grants giveaway.

 

6.30pm Soup and mingle | 7pm AGM | 7.30pm Pitch to Win | 8.30pm Wine and conversationWe invite anyone in our community to pitch their project for a chance to win one of six $300 grants!On offer are:

4 x $300 grants sponsored by Imagine Uraidla. These grants will be judged on the ability to create connection in our community.

 

2 x $300 grants sponsored by the Sustainability Fair. These grants will be judged on their potential to foster environmental benefit.

You can expect:

 

A welcoming and interactive night with audience participation and plenty of time to connect with other community members. The winners of the grants will be voted by members and announced on the night.

Pitches:

Pitch applications are due by 14 August.To express your interest, please send us an email to imagineuraidla@gmail.com with:

Pitch Project Name

Which grant you are applying for: The Imagine Uraidla grants (community connection) or Sustainability Fair grants (environmental benefit)

Who you are (an individual, community group, association, club, etc) + contact details

A few sentences describing your idea / project and how you would use the $

Photos are welcome

This information is to help us prepare a list of pitches for the night and to be organised for voting.

 

On the night:

The pitches will be quick, informal, and fun

You will have up to 2 minutes to pitch your idea, with a bell ringing at 2 minutes

The format is to stand and speak, no slides

Be as creative as you like; you may like to theme your pitch (dress up, demonstrate, bring props) 

Guidelines:

The grant pitches must focus on creating connection in the community or be of environmental benefit

The winners will be decided by a vote of the Imagine Uraidla members on the night

Winners will spend their grant by June 30, 2025 and provide Imagine Uraidla with receipts for their spending

Winners will commit to sharing photos / videos / stories of their activity with Imagine Uraidla

A new poster design to welcome new club members

Face painting at a clothes swap event

A morning tea for new people to a community club

Catering to cover a collaboration between local clubs

Seeds for a public flower installation

Movie screening license fee to bring young people together

Craft materials to create a fun connection night

Payment for a guest speaker to bring together a skill share between generations

Materials to create habitats for local fauna on public land

A community tree planting day

History book for sale 

Have you seen the Uraidla book written by local historian Geoffrey Bishop on behalf of the East Torrens Historical Society? It tells the story of the Uraidla township, from the beginning to current day and is a fascinating read!

Books are $35 and there are copies for sale at the Front Office.
